Summer Wagyu calves at Stepaside
This month, three of our moms gave birth to Wagyu calves. Like all the Wagyus we raise, our new babies are 100% fullblood Wagyu (not bred with Angus). Since we raise our cows only for their outstanding genetics (not as food), our calves have all the beautiful characteristics of fullblood Wagyu.
Our Wagyu calves in photos
Science and breeding aside, we think you’d agree that our calves are 100% cute. What do you think?
Here’s the firstborn, a girl, just a couple hours after birth.
The second was a boy. But he was camera-shy, so we haven’t gotten a photo of him just yet!
The third baby was a girl. Here she is:
(We’re like proud grandparents, showing off our snapshots!)
Finally, here’s a photo of our third calf a few days after birth, just cooling off in the shade:
That’s the end of calving for the season. Our moms are happy and healthy, the babies are growing and doing well, and we couldn’t be happier!
